How long does orthodontic treatment take?
Invisalign treatment time varies based on your individual needs, but most patients complete treatment in about 12 to 18 months. Some minor adjustments can be made in as little as six months, while more complex cases may take longer. You’ll wear a series of clear aligners that gradually shift your teeth into place. During your consultation, we’ll create a personalized plan and give you an estimated timeline based on your goals and smile needs.

Does orthodontic treatment hurt?
Invisalign’s patented clear aligners are designed for comfort, but you may feel mild pressure or soreness in the beginning or when switching to a new set of aligners. This is a sign that your teeth are moving as planned. The discomfort is usually temporary and can often be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers and soft foods. Most patients find Invisalign to be much more comfortable than traditional braces, with no metal brackets or wires to irritate your mouth!

Is Invisalign good for people of all ages?
Invisalign is a great option for both teens and adults. It’s especially popular with adults who want a more discreet and flexible way to straighten their teeth versus noticeable metal braces. Teens who are responsible enough to wear their aligners for 20–22 hours a day can also see great results. Invisalign offers different treatment options tailored to different age groups, so we’ll help you determine the best fit during your consultation or your child’s consultation.

Do I need to go to an orthodontic practice for Invisalign?
No, you don’t have to see a specialist orthodontist to get Invisalign. Many general dental offices, including High Point Dentistry, are trained and certified to provide Invisalign. We use advanced digital scans and treatment planning tools to create a custom plan tailored to your smile. If your case requires more complex tooth movement, your dentist may recommend a specialist, but most routine aligner cases can be handled in-office. High Point Dentistry makes it convenient for you to get the care you need in a familiar setting—no need for extra appointments or referrals!
