What are my denture options?
High Point Dentistry offers three excellent choices for custom dentures.
- Partial Dentures: Partial dentures are used to replace one or more missing teeth when some natural teeth still remain. They are custom-made to fit your mouth and attach securely with clasps around your existing teeth. Partial dentures help restore your smile, improve chewing, and prevent remaining teeth from shifting.
- Full Dentures: Full dentures are designed for patients who have lost all their teeth in the upper or lower arch. They rest on the gums and are custom-shaped to look natural and fit comfortably. Full dentures restore facial structure, speech, and the ability to eat a wider variety of foods.
- Implant-Supported Dentures: Implant-supported dentures are a more stable alternative to traditional dentures. They attach to dental implants placed in the jaw, offering improved comfort, function, and confidence. These dentures are less likely to slip and provide better support for chewing and speaking.

How long do custom dentures take?
The process for receiving custom dentures typically takes several weeks. After an initial consultation, we take impressions of your mouth and send them to a dental lab. You may have a few fittings to ensure proper shape, size, and comfort. In general, full or partial dentures are ready within 3 to 6 weeks, depending on your specific case. Implant-supported dentures take a little longer, as dental implants have to be placed into the jawbone. We’ll keep you informed every step of the way to ensure a great fit and natural look.

Should I get dentures or dental implants?
Choosing between dentures and dental implants depends on your oral health, bone structure, lifestyle, and budget. Traditional dentures are a non-surgical, cost-effective solution for replacing missing teeth. Implants, while more of a financial investment, offer a long-lasting and stable option that feels more like natural teeth. During your consultation, we’ll evaluate your needs and discuss the pros and cons of each to help you make the best decision for your smile.
